A dog run needed more than deodorizer.
This heavily used Cedar City turf needed a mechanical reset and a layered odor plan. It became the foundational field application of ClearTurf PRIME—our most comprehensive treatment path for severe pet odor.
PRIME creates a stronger clean baseline; it does not prevent new pet use from creating new odor.

Most odor problems are not sitting politely on top of the turf. They involve compacted fibers, trapped material, repeat-use zones and residue within the infill layer. PRIME gives severe cases a deeper treatment path without pretending one product can solve every condition.
After inspecting this Cedar City dog run, we presented Good, Better and Best options. The chosen scope blended the stronger mechanical and odor-control elements of Better and Best.

Reset
Power brooming and sweeping lift compacted fibers, remove loose material and improve access to the turf system.
Infill
Zeolite is worked into the system where appropriate to help adsorb ammonia and support ongoing odor management.
Microbial enzymes
After the oxidation stage has subsided, an enzyme formula targets remaining organic residue through a different treatment mechanism.
The sequence matters. Products, concentration, timing and turf condition are assessed for the property. This is a professional service—not a recommendation to casually mix or layer household chemicals.

What happened on site
We opened the turf before treating the odor.
The fibers were visibly flattened and the dog run was holding debris and odor from repeated use. We power broomed, swept the surface and prepared the system before applying the odor-control stages.
- Inspect and scope: identify the concentrated-use areas and the condition below the visible blade tips.
- Mechanically reset: power broom and sweep to lift fibers and remove accessible debris.
- Oxidize: apply the peroxide stage and allow the active reaction to subside.
- Support and finish: work in zeolite, apply the microbial enzyme stage and complete the final groom.

Is PRIME right for every yard?
No—and that is why we inspect first.
Some pet areas respond well to preparation and a single targeted treatment. PRIME is reserved for conditions where a multi-stage approach is justified by odor severity, repeat use, infill condition and the customer’s goal.
Drainage limitations, damaged turf, saturated base material or continuing pet use can affect the result. We explain those limits before recommending the scope.
